Then again, when I'm in line at the grocery store with Sylvain, I have to avoid eye contact with the clerk just to force him/her to deal with the human being next to me making the purchase, handing over the money. I have to keep my hands in my pockets or they'll try to give me his change. False assumptions are so deeply rooted and unconscious.
